| Sarah Allen, daughter of Perkins and Abigail (Smith) Allen was born in New Portland, Maine. She died April 13,1855 in John Butts' house and is buried in the East New Portland Cem. She married Emery Hutchins. Emery was a private from New Portland among the troops sent to guard the New York - Canadian border and was killed leaving Sarah a widow with five children.12 |
