| John Butts came to New Portland, Maine on foot from Dartmouth, Massachusetts in the spring of 1813 traveling over 300 miles in six days. He married 1st Celia Crapo by whom eight children were born. He married 2nd Abigail Hutchins who had twelve children. In addition, he had six children that died in infancy.8 |
