John Simmons, youngest son of Moyses the immigrant: we have found very little about this John Simmons. He was industrious evidently, for he accumulated land and houses. His estate was settled by mutual agreement amoung his heirs. His "youngest son, Moses" paid £ 200. to his six brothers and two sisters for their intrest, "eldest son John" to have the customary double share, etc. This agreement is dated 11th day of February Anno Dom. 1715-16.
John was married on Nov. 16,1669 to Mercy Pabodie daughter of William and Elizabeth (Alden) Pabodie. They had nine children. Birth dates given in Simmons (1930) are confirmed by Vital Records of Duxbury (1911). |
