| Moses Simmons, son of John and Mercy (Peabody) Simmons: we have again little documented information about Moses or his wife, Rachel Samson. Moses was born in February 1680. Rachel and he were married March 26,1718 at Duxbury. Since he purchased his fathers farm from the other heirs, we assume he farmed and raised his family at Duxbury. Alden (1897) gives Moses death, June 21,1761 aged 70 and 2/3 years. The Mayflower Index (1960) confirms descent from the first three children only. Simmons (1930) lists ten of their children: birth dates are confirmed in the Vital Records of Duxbury (1911). |
