| Jerome enlisted and spent most of Civl War, through Feb 24,1865 as a private in same outfit with brother George; he was "Absent sick since Feb. 25th,65,in hospital, N.O.La. - - - admitted on Steamer Baltic,May 2/65 with incised wound of foot by an axe, - - - entered G.H. Jefferson Bks, near St. Louis, Mo. May 8/65 with incised wound left foot and was discharged the service June 10th 1865 on a certificate of disability. At his death, June 26,1919, he was on pension of $40 per month. |
