| Widow Martha Ford is generally recognized as founder of the American Ford family, coming on the Fortune in 1621 with three children. Her husband, William, died on board the Fortune. He was a leather dresser from Southwork, England. History says she gave birth to a child the next night after landing, but that it probably died.?!? | ||||||
