William Gerrish was born August 20,1617 in Bristol, Somersetshire, England and died August 9,1687 at Salem, Massachhusetts. He came to New England in 1638, probably with Percival Lowle (Lowell) on the Jonathan, and lived at Newbury untill 1678 then moved to Boston, Mass.
He married first on April 17,1644, Mrs. Joanna (Lowle) Oliver, widow of John Oliver and daughter of Percival Lowle. She was born in 1619 and died on July 14,1677, and was the mother of his first ten children. He married second, Mrs. Ann (Parker) Manning, widow of John Manning and daughter of Richard Parker. She was the mother of his eleventh child.
