Ransford Smith was a gentleman and resided at Tisbury. He was a Deacon of the church and a Representative to the General Court. He was born on Aug. 12,1722, died June 10,1811 and his will dated Dec. 3,1810 was proved July 22,1811. In about 1744 he married Elizabeth Lambert. They had seven children.9
