From Hotten (1931)7 we have a list of "Passingers wch Passed From Ye Port of London, viij Maij 1635, In the Elizabeth & Ann prd Roger Coop (Cooper) Mr. Theis vnder written names are to be transported to New-England imbarqued in the said Shipp: They brought Cert. of their Conformite to the Church of England & yt they are no Subsedy Men." Edmond Weston - - - age 30, is third in a list of nine on this date. Many others had embarked earlier. There are no other Westons listed; presumably he came without wife nor family.
Edmond Weston is said by Delano (1899)5 to have gone to Duxbury 1640, bore arms 1643, Surveyor 1652, married late in life a (?) Delano, was from an armigerous family tracing descent from one Hayleric de Weston (Surrey) in the time of Henry I about 1100 AD. |
