GEORGE SOULE came on the Mayflower as indentured servant to Edward Winslow. Ridlon (1926)6 from searches of Soule families in England finds "Robert (son of Thomas), husbandman, of Eckington made his will Feb. 5,1612, and was proved March 13,1612 by his son Robert as executor. He names in his will his wife Elizabeth, and sons Thomas, Robert and GEORGE. This, the youngest son of the decedent answers best of all the candidates the demands of identification in point of time, locality and relationship to a Soule family which had contact with Governor Winslow both in London and Worchester." This George Soule orphaned in 1612, possibly "put out" to Winslow in Worchester and later employed in the London printing business in 1618 - - etc.
George Soule was a signer of the Compact and became a respected member of Plymouth Colony. He was at one time Deputy to the General Court from Duxbury. He died at Duxbury shortly before Feb. 1,1680. He married Mary Bucket (or Becket) who came in 1623 on the "Anne". They were married before 1627. She probably came from St. Botolph parish, Aldersgate, London. Their marriage is documented by the sale of her acre of land (granted as a passenger) by George
Soule, which he would do as her husband. She died in Dec. 1676 at Duxbury.
