Alexander Standish, son of Myles Standish --
I have found very little in the literature about Alexander Standish. Myles seems to have completely overshadowed his children in Standish history. Alden (1897)4 indicates that Alexander was at one time town clerk of Duxbury.
Alexander married first Sarah Alden by whom all the children were born. He married second Desire (Doty) Sherman - Holmes, daughter of Edward Doty and widow of both William Sherman and Isreal Holmes. Seven children are listed in the Mayflower Index (1960), the order is indefinate. |
