This 1926 Dodge Business Sedan was purchased new in 1926 by A. Merl Scoles (Baker, Montana). After a number of years "it got old" his son Lloyd wanted to buy it from him. However, viewing it as "junk", Merl did want to sell it to Lloyd and instead he traded it for a truxk axel to a local auto dealership. A year or so later, Lloyd got enough money together to purchase it from the dealer. He kept it garaged at his home in Sidney, Montana until he passed away in 1992. At that time it was passed on to Lloyd's daughter Robin (now in Elburn, Illinois). It has been stored in her garage since. The one year it was at the auto dealership, it was kept outdoors. Over that time kids jumped on the roof and damaged the wood frame / chicken-wire roof structure and broke out some of the windows.
It is now 2026. 100 years since Merl purchased it. Other than the one year at the auto dealership, it has been in the Mer/Lloyd/Robin (Scoles) family. In celebration of its 100th birthday (and the 100th birthday of LLoyd, who was born in 1926), Robin suggested we get it running.
