Here's the "final" assembly of the lower hose. I had ordered a Spectre stainless hose cover kit. It came with a 3' section of braid for the lower hose, but when stretched over this 1 3/4" hose, it only covered half of the hose - and was a total pain in the "paduca" to put on. I slid the braid over the half of the hose closest to the engine. It looks "ok" - not great. The pair of hose clamps span the splice.
